Changing Climate Will Make The Human Population More Poor

According to a recent report by world bank, changing climate is badly affecting the production of crops. The decreased yield will ultimately cause increase in prices of food items and thus will result in increased poverty level in many countries of world.

The countries which are expected to be greatly affected by this situation includes Tajikistan, Yemen, Pakistan and Sri- Lanka. The best example to judge the effect of natural disaster was seen in Pakistan during 2010, when a large cultivated area (20 lac acre) was severely hit by flood. During that year a 50% increase in price of wheat was noted.

The situation looks more threatening when we read the lines reported by world bank that there will 5% decrease in overall production by the year 2030. This figure will reach upto 30% decrease in food production by the year 2080.

The experts have said that changing climate increase the chances of epidemic and poor countries are also hit by global warming.

However, the senior director of department of Climate Change, world bank said that we have the ability to cope with effects of changing climate. He added that we can lower poverty level during period of changing climate. But to do this we will have to link changing climate with development the world is making.

BUT WE HAVE TO WORK FAST ON ALL ASPECTS LINKED TO CHANGING CLIMATE OTHER THE SITUATION WILL BECOME UNCONTROLLED.
