Chandra Bahadur Dangi World’s Smallest Man
Chandra Bahadur Dangi (World’s smallest man) was born on 30 November 1939 in Nepal. Chandra Bahadur lived in a village named “Reemkholi” which is approximately 400 kilometers apart from capital of Nepal Kathmandu. The reason for Chandra’s abnormal height was not known and he was a dwarf since his birth. Three of five brothers of Chandra were also dwarf having heights less than four feet. But other two sisters and two brothers were of normal heights. With his small height Chandra wanted to popularize his country Nepal.
Chandra Bahadur Dangi in Guinness Book of World Records
Chandra Bahadur spent his whole life in his native village. But he got attention of world’s media after 70 years of his age when a wood contractor saw him in Dang district of Nepal. Chandra’s height was officially measured in February 2012. Subsequently his name was included in Guinness Book of World Records as smallest human of the world. In 2012 Chandra Bahadur Dangi met the world’s smallest lady named ‘Jyoti Amge’ of India. This small pair was specially posted in 57th edition of Guinness of World Records. On 13 November 2014, in an event in London, Chandra met the world’s tallest living man ‘Sultan Kosen‘ of Turkey.

Chandra’s Height
Chandra’s height was measured 54.6 cm (1 foot 9.5 inches). Before Chandra, ‘Gul Muhammad’ (1957-1997) was the world’s smallest man with height 57 cm (1 foot 10 inches). So by only a half inch difference he broke the record of Gul Muhammad and became the world’s smallest man.
Chandra’s Death
Chandra Bahadur Dangi died On 3 September 2015 at the age of 75 years. The actual reason of his death was not disclosed but according to the report of ‘The Kathmandu Post’ he had already been suffering from pneumonia.
